The Dar Rapid Transit (DART) Agency’s staff and other workers from different institutions in Dar es Salaam will today pay their last respects to the body of late Alexander Isaac Lumelezi who passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 of lung cancer at Mama Ngoma Hospital in Dar es Salaam.
The paying of last respects to the late Lumelezi’s body is scheduled to take place at Mbezi Magabe from 12:00pm. After the funeral ceremony at Mbezi Magabe, the body will be transported to Kipalapala in Tabora on the same day for burial.
The late Lumelezi was diagnosed with lung cancer during his annual leave. Many people have been shocked by his untimely death as he always looked physically fit before going for his annual leave.
His demise has left the Agency with a big gap as he used to provide the management of DART with all necessary advice on financial regulations in his position as Internal Auditor Manager.
The DART Agency will always remember him for his competence to carry out responsibilities and courage to make decisions.
Before joining DART Agency in April 2016, Lumelezi worked as Executive Director in Nyang’hwale and Geita Districts from March 2016 and 2013, respectively.
He was born on July 23, 1975 (exactly 43 years) at Kipalapala village in Tabora region. His father and mother are Isaac Abraham Lumelezi and Agnes Bugumba Lumelezi, respectively.
The late Lumelezi will be remembered by many DART staff by his sense of humor, especially his famous Swahili phrase he normally used to address his colleagues: “Mzazi Mwenzangu”.
May his soul rest in eternal peace. Amen.
